Overview
Unfortunately, our pets can suffer from neurological conditions just as we humans can, from strokes and seizures to cancers to encephalitis. Veterinary neurologists specialize in diagnosing and treating diseases of the nervous systems, including the brain, spinal cord and muscle disorders.
SFVS’s veterinary neurologist, Dr. David Geiger, is proficient in all areas of medical and surgical neurology. Working with our referring veterinarians and other SFVS specialists, our neurology department provides compassionate care and top-quality diagnostics and treatment to neurology patients.
Neurology/neurosurgery services and procedures at SFVS include:
- Complete neurological exam, including gait analysis
- Diagnostic imaging: CT, MRI, myelography, transcranial ultrasound (MRI performed off-site)
- Spinal and brain surgery
- Intervertebral disk disease

Neurology appointments are available at SFVS Sunday-Wednesday. Consultation and on-call services for urgent/emergency referrals are available at all times.
