How to Apply

Veterinary students interested in a 1-2 week externship should email a letter of inquiry to externs@sfvs.net. Please include the name of your school of veterinary medicine, anticipated year of graduation, and the dates that you available. Externships afford an opportunity to meet staff and work in SFVS facilities before applying to our Internship program.

Prospective interns should apply through The American Association of Veterinary Clinicians Internship Matching Program www.virmp.org. Intern applicants must be eligible for licensure in California before June 2010. Applicants will be evaluated based upon their intentions, academic performance, past and current activities, and their recommendations.
